OK, Collective, it's time to start posting your Batches of Kindness and birthday messages for Benedict! I have no idea if he will see them (he is an awfully busy chap, if you've noticed) but if nothing else, we can inspire each other. (Please keep your comments clean and appropriate. I reserve the right to remove any comment that does not reflect the best possible side of the fandom.)
I'm going to be cheeky and go first. :)

Benedict, I'm new to this fandom (only 4 months in), but in that time you have affected my life profoundly. After seeing Sherlock, I began watching your other performances, and the film Third Star woke me up to the passive manner in which I was living (wasting?) my life. After having two children, I had shelved many old ambitions and dreams with the age-old thought that "there's always tomorrow." Because of James, and your achingly brilliant portrayal of him, I dug out the novel I began writing in college and am determined now to finish it, if only for myself. Thank you for continuing to share your immense talent with the world, even when reporters and paparazzi make your privacy difficult to maintain. Your true fans have the utmost respect for you not only as an actor, but as a human being. I hope your birthday finds you surrounded by family and friends--people with whom you can truly be yourself.
May this act of kindness campaign remind you of the depth and scope of your impact on the lives of so many all over the world! ~ Michelle
